Poetry
A poet is a nightingale, who sits in darkness and sings to cheer its own solitude with sweet sounds. — Percy Bysshe Shelley
I was a High School poet.
Which means that some of these are quite good, some are quite angsty and dark, and quite a few are very geared toward a Phantom of the Opera feel, because that is the phandom, er, fandom, that held my attention back in the day. Enjoy.

Summer
Sleepy days, sleepy hills,
Growing grass, daffodils.
Drifting clouds, azure skies,
Jumping crickets, butterflies.
Glowing sun, swaying trees,
Playful wind, gentle breeze.
Purple violets, roses red,
Dreaming in a mossy bed.
Bubbling brook that will not quell,
Scarlet blooming pimpernel
Happy summer, happy ways
Lazy hills and lazy days.

Sunrise Reflections
Birds are dancing through the air,
Upon a glorious spring morn.
Flitting through air without a care,
Heralding the sun, this day new born.
Clouds are drifting through the sky,
Fluffy cream against the blue.
Sailing the sky, they float on by,
A perfect color, a perfect hue.
Breezes blowing through a field,
Gently stirring the grassy plain
Grazing the field, a fragrance revealed,
Of moistened flowers, a hint of rain.
The sun is strolling through its course,
The morning turns itself to noon,
Along this course, the sun is forced.
The day begins too soon.

Morning
Warm and drowsy in blankets lay,
Peace permeates the break of day.
Purple clouds meet rosy skies,
Chipmunks chirp with twinkling eyes.
Wind blows crisp with morning dew,
Air hangs fresh, a steely blue.
Quiet blankets the world with calm,
Soothes the soul like a gentle balm.
Fresh and new, the past is none,
Day begins with the rising sun.
Beauty divine as a crystalline lake,
But it’s far too early to be awake!

Nightmare Lament
Dungeons deep in darkest night,
Torches flickering shadowed light,
Echoing wails through endless halls,
The skitter of rats through hollow walls,
Vaults as lonely as a dead man's tomb,
Silence as heavy as impending doom,
Watery pools in a bottomless pit,
The smell of decay in a bone filled crypt,
Crooning whispers of eternal sleep
Plague those who through the catacombs creep,
Unspeakable horrors that remain unsaid
Dampen the soul with fiery dread...

Silver
Silver is the full, bright moon
That glows forever more
Silver are the many stars
That shine on lands of yore
Silver is the dancing wind
That breathes her mournful sigh
Silver is the flowing stream
That trickles softly by
Silver is the moonlit night
That holds me to her breast
Silver is the silent song
That lays my soul to rest

Descent Into Madness
How can I want to stay alive
When I'm being devoured from deep inside?
Rotting flesh and unseeing eyes,
Horrible visage of life's demise,
Ravenous wolves and poisonous snakes,
Shrieking sirens in underground lakes,
Harpies and demons, an endless flood,
Rivers raging with molten blood,
Distorted ghosts with ripping claws,
Spiders and scorpions with clicking jaws,
Darkness descends on the dying light,
Fill the world with endless night.
Lucidity towards insanity bends,
I pray to God this nightmare ends...
